Investigation relationship between topographic factors and characteristics of Gall oak (Quercus infectoria Oliv) with the biomass and nutrients of fine root (Case study: Shineh, Lorestan)

The current research is based on the existing ecological conditions in the Zagros forests and knowledge of the response of forest trees to these conditions and the purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of topographic factors, tree characteristics on of fine roots biomass of gal oak (Quercus infectoria Oliv.) and also to compare the amount of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium in the fine roots of trees in the Shineh region, Lorestan province. Initially, random and regular sampling method used with 100×100 meters of statistical network. Tree characteristics, including diameter at breast height, crown diameter, height/DBH ratio, also the concentration of the NPK on two altitude classes and also the fine root biomass in three directions, at a depth of 0 - 30, slope 15 - 60% and altitude of 1300 - 1500 meter above sea level were measured. The results showed that depth and geographical directions had significant effect on the fine roots biomass. This biomass is greater at a depth of 15-30 cm and in the east direction. Above mean sea level had no significant effect on root biomass. The biomass was greater at a slope of 46-60 percent. Also, crown diameter, height coefficient and amount of NPK have significant effect on root biomass of gal oak. But the DBH and the height of the tree have no significant effect on root biomass. Nitrogen had the highest positive correlation and potassium had the least negative correlation with the amount of fine root biomass. Knowing more about the characteristics of trees according to the state of forest stands can be effective in protection and restoration, especially in their treatment operations.
